We are thrilled to announce that Assemblymember Karen McMahon and her office selected Renee Filip, President and CEO at Aspire of WNY, as a 2024 Woman of Distinction Award winner. This award honors Renee’s outstanding leadership and dedication to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The announcement was made in a letter received by Renee from Assemblymember Karen McMahon, celebrating the significant impact that Renee has made. The award ceremony took place on June 13, 2024, in Williamsville, where Renee was recognized alongside other distinguished women leaders from the community.
Renee’s leadership at Aspire of WNY has furthered our mission to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has advocated for countless individuals to help them realize their full potential and live as independently as possible. Her commitment to her community, both inside and outside of the agency, makes her truly worthy of this incredible award!
The award ceremony featured Rhonda Frederick, the former CEO of People Inc., as the guest speaker. Rhonda Frederick now acts as the Director of Community Giving and Support for West Herr, continuing her impactful work within the community.

I continue to be amazed by every single person’s daily impact, and I am so grateful for all of our agency’s efforts to help the individuals we support realize their full potential.
