Joan is a highly expressive individual which is reflected in her brushstrokes and vibrant color choices. Joan loves to experiment with mixing different colors together and seeing what transpires. When working on paintings you can often find Joan with her hand on her chin and eyes squinted in deep thought, contemplating her next steps. This gave us the inspiration for the title, “Cloud of Thought.” Utilizing a wheelchair herself, Joan wanted to portray the subject seated, almost hidden as though they are sinking into their thoughts.
